Dana Younger is a Senior Advisor to CFA and previously had a distinguished 30-year career at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), with the last position being Chief Renewable Energy Specialist, Global Power Team, Global Infrastructure & Natural Resources Department. Among other projects, he participated in preparing a Solar Strategy for IFC’s management group and has conducted due diligence and portfolio supervision for a number of upstream solar PV manufacturing plants in China, India, the Philippines, Russia and Vietnam, as well as start-up solar PV developers that have considered backward integration into manufacturing.   Overall, he helped mobilize IFC and non-IFC financing for >7 GW of wind projects, >8 GW of solar PV projects, >1 GW of geothermal projects, and ~600 MW of CSP projects including equity, quasi-equity, long-term loans and concessional finance, and mobilized >$300M in GEF funding for climate change mitigation, often referred to as blended finance, as well as helped launch carbon finance facilities including Prototype Carbon Facility (PCF) and Netherlands Carbon Finance Facility, which is part of climate finance generally.

Previously, he was a consultant at Dames & Moore (now AECOM) and has extensive expertise in working with the solar and wind industry globally. Dana received an M.A. from the George Washington University Elliot School of International Affairs in Science, Technology & Public Policy and a Bachelor’s degree from Vassar College, A.B. Science, Technology & Society: Human Ecology  He was a recipient of a Science, Engineering & Diplomacy Fellowship from the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), where he worked on evaluation of renewable energy projects globally for the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).
