Investing in Resilience: Resources and Lessons Learned from U.S. and E.U. Cooperation

Climate Finance Advisors manages the EU-USCA Climate Risk and Resilience Cooperation project — a first-of-its-kind collaboration among the European Union, EU member states, and the U.S. Climate Alliance. The project’s goal is to accelerate sustainable, climate-smart investments in the U.S. and the EU by deepening understanding of climate resilience, increasing capacity, and facilitating cooperation among governments.

This initiative engages on a number of topics organized across three thematic workstreams:

  • Insurance and risk assessment – Governments and the private sector can work with the insurance industry to enhance climate resilience.
  • Financing climate resilience measures –  Governments can incorporate resilience into climate action plans, public and private financing strategies, and other policies.
  • Future-proof infrastructure –  Resilience must be built in to infrastructure planning and investment.

The project is also exploring issues and opportunities for action relating to social equity and post-COVID green and resilient economic recovery.

Since launching in May of 2020, the EU-USCA Climate Risk and Resilience Cooperation project has developed user-friendly resources that offer case studies, practical guidance, and a wealth of information about climate-smart investments on both sides of the Atlantic. As we continue to add content, we invite you to make use of any of these resources and to contact us at info@climate-fa.com with any questions.
